Brooklyn Coop has just lowered the minimum balance for newly opened Start Checking accounts.
Through August 31, 2011, members who open a personal Start Checking account will have the regular minimum balance of $100 waived. With this promotion, members will find it easier to maintain only the basic $5 minimum balance in their savings account. The same low $3 monthly checking account fee applies. Members will still enjoy unlimited debit purchases and four free ATM transactions per month (and just $1 per transaction for additional ATM transactions), as well as all the regular account features.
