Become a Member of Brooklyn Coop

As a community credit union, Brooklyn Coop serves a well-defined set of neighborhoods known as our Field of Membership .

We proudly serve:

Brooklyn Community District 3 – Bushwick
Brooklyn Community District 4 – Bed-Stuy
Brooklyn Community District 5 – East New York
Brooklyn Community Districts 8 & 9 – Crown Heights
Brooklyn Community District 16 – Brownsville
Queens Community District 5 – Ridgewood

To be eligible for membership, you must have a relationship with one of these neighborhoods. This includes living, working, worshipping, operating a business, or being a member of a community organization headquartered in our Field of Membership.

What You Need to Join

Unexpired government-issued photo ID
Proof of address (ID, bank statement, lease, or utility bill)
Proof of Social Security Number or IRS ITIN letter
$25 membership fee + $30 membership share

You may walk into any branch to open an account. We recommend scheduling an appointment to minimize wait times.
