VITA Tax Services

The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Preparation) Program offers free tax preparation services to credit union members and community residents. We completed 3,300 returns in 2011, securing nearly $5 million in tax refunds for the Bushwick and Bedford-Stuyvesant communities.

Households earning $50,000 or less with dependents
Single filers earning $20,000 or less
Self-employed with expenses of $10,000 or less

WHAT TO BRING

Government-issued photo ID
Social Security (or ITIN) cards for yourself and all individuals on your return.
All W-2 forms, 1099-R, etc.
Documentation of higher education expenses, including tuition paid, loans received, student loan interest payments, and student fees.
Child care expenses, provider information and tax ID number.
Bank account number/routing (ABA) number for direct deposit.
